Understanding God's power....

Once we accept that we cannot solve a situation (burden) in our life and we have tried everything we can think of, we often turn to a God whom we may or may not be well-acquainted with.

To the degree we become familiar with the concept and connect with God, we will become hopeful. In other words, the greater the relationship, the greater the hope! Few do not, at one time or another, call out to God in desperation. Why not build the faith on a regular basis and stand strong in the crisis with a sincere sense of God’s love and presence?

Our February focus is on the step that says “we came to believe that a power (God) greater than ourselves could restore us………..”. Today I take this to mean I CAME TO BELIEVE, in other words, I came to the program to learn how to believe in God so that I could connect with Him and learn about spirituality.

Following our steps (taken from scripture) and studying their roots undoubtedly brings people into a relationship with God.

Why not spend some time with us and find out for yourself how you perceive of and can connect to God as you understand Him. There is no relationship as unique as our own personal relationship to God.

SHARING THE BURDEN

 

• 1-something is wrong
  2-not enough power in me to fix it
  3-thought maybe something greater can help me
  4-we see others who have struggled and are recovered and we speak to them
  5-they tell us God healed them and their job is to tell their healing stories to others like them
  6-glimmer of hope is evident because the proof of so many healings is evident
  7-he/she goes with another and tells her/his story to a new person who hurts
  BELIEF GROWS AND TAKES ON CHARACTER AS THE NEW PERSON BUILDS THAT UNIQUE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

Powerlessness understood we move on.....!

We have determined that we are all still human and therefore have situations in our lives that we cannot control.

As we progress with our steps toward freedom from whatever our vice , problem, situation, sickness or problem happens to be, we quickly realize that we cannot do it alone. We need God and friends to achieve full freedom.

We will dig into that need in our second phase of the program in February (step 2)!

Join us and feel free to invite anyone you want to come along. We have no qualifications regarding our support. We are here to share your burdens with you. They will immediately become lighter! We promise!

Emotional Time Bombs

What do we deal with unresolved issues: how do we distract ourselves?

Emotions that we do not know how to express appropriately, tend to be pushed down or buried. However, they will express themselves in one way or another and they can be explosive and dangerous.

We need to bring them purposefully to the surface, face and deal with them. Conviction of the guilty and forgiveness must happen asap.

Resultant feelings will control us if we do not deal with them: they are buried time bombs.

The methods we use to escape these feelings can easily result in compulsions and addictions of various types.

Praying and Listening to God.....the focus in 2015

 

Sharing The Burden will focus on recorded answers to prayer as we work our way through 2015.

For those who have tried this form of prayer with two three or four people involved at the same time, we know that the results are nothing short of miraculous. When God speaks through several people, the answers become far more obvious and therefore trustworthy for making decisions!

Hope to see you! Meetings start up tonite at The Olive Branch, tomorrow noon at 10165 Yonge, tomorrow evening at Wexford Heights United and Thursday evening back at 10165 Yonge at Mind Body and Soul self help centre. Our first meeting of 2015 was last evening at the detention centre. A man who has spent most of the last 25 years in this centre told me that this was the best meeting he had been to in all that time. God must be doing something with our efforts friends! As the slogan says “KEEP COMING BACK”

We will start our meetings this week with the discussions around the question “how powerful are we really?”
