-What/who do we depend upon?
-What do we really have control over?
-If we believe in an all-powerful God, what does "all" exclude? I think whatever we decide we have power over-some one's behaviour, our lifestyle, our general lot in life, our possessions, our families, our very abilities, literally anything we deem to control in any way shape or form becomes our master. We will be joyful or sad based on how well the outcomes come in line with our goals in any area. STEP ONE has us seeing, usually for the first time and usually not all at once, that we cannot do it alone and that no man or woman is going to have the answer. WE HAVE BECOME DEPENDANT ON A SPIRITUAL ANSWER THAT IS UNCLEAR AS YET. We too must admit (as babies and the elderly) that we are truly powerless if our lives are going to become healthy. This is an honest appraisal of our situation in life. "We admit to You oh God our utter powerlessness and pray hereby for the clarity of Your will and direction for our lives-Amen"
